Tax center

The Tax center allows you to update cost basis information on your deposit records by downloading the deposits report, editing it locally, and uploading the updated version.
Anchorage Digital does not provide financial, tax, or legal advice. Consult a qualified professional for guidance specific to your situation.

CSV columns

The deposits report CSV contains two types of columns: Pre-populated columns (do not modify):
  • Account ID — Account name associated with the deposit.
  • Deposit ID — Unique identifier for the deposit transaction.
  • Deposit date & time — Date and time in YYYY-MM-DDThh:mm:ssZ format.
  • Asset type — Asset type on the deposit (e.g., BTC, ETH).
  • Deposit quantity — Total quantity deposited.
Columns you must fill in:
  • Lot quantity — The amount of the asset in the specific lot.
  • Lot cost basis — The total cost of this tax lot in US dollars.
  • Lot acquisition date & time — The date the asset was acquired in YYYY-MM-DDThh:mm:ssZ format.

Handling multiple tax lots

A single deposit can have multiple tax lots if tokens were acquired on separate occasions.
  • Single tax lot: Fill in the required fields on the existing row. The Lot quantity must equal the Deposit quantity.
  • Multiple tax lots: Copy the row once for each additional lot, keep pre-populated fields identical across all rows, then fill in lot details. The sum of all Lot quantities must equal the Deposit quantity.

Validation rules

RuleDescription
Quantity matchTotal Lot quantity for a Deposit ID must equal the original deposit quantity. Partial allocations are not supported.
Date accuracyAcquisition date and time must be on or before the Deposit date and time.
Lot limitMaximum of 100 tax lots per deposit. Contact support if you exceed this limit.
File sizeMaximum of 10 MB or 5,000 deposits per upload. Split larger files and upload them separately.

Document delivery

Navigate to Settings, then Document delivery and click the edit button to set up or edit the distribution list for each document category. You can specify different recipients per legal entity onboarded with Anchorage Digital. To configure invoice delivery specifically, navigate to Invoices and enter or edit email recipient details.

IP allowlist

The IP allowlist lets you restrict platform access to specific IP addresses or CIDR ranges.
Add all required IPs as inactive entries first — including your current IP — before activating enforcement. Activating the allowlist without an entry covering your current IP will lock you out. If that happens, an Access denied screen will display your IP address with a prompt to contact your organization administrator.

Adding and activating IP entries

1

Add an IP entry

Click Add IP address.
2

Enter the IP address or CIDR range

Use a single IPv4 address (e.g., 203.0.113.5) or a CIDR range (e.g., 203.0.113.0/24). IPv6 addresses are not currently supported.
3

Add a label

Optionally add a descriptive name, such as HQ Office or VPN gateway, to make the entry easier to identify later.
4

Choose platforms

Select which platforms the IP entry applies to. Use Select all to cover all available platforms.
5

Set the status

Choose Inactive while you finish building the list, or Active to allow access immediately.
6

Activate enforcement

Turn an IP entry on from the Active column. The first active IP entry starts enforcement for the selected platforms.
A platform remains open to all IPs until it has at least one active IP entry. Once a platform has an active entry, only IPs covered by active entries for that platform can access it. For example, activating an entry for the web dashboard but not for API restricts only the web dashboard — API remains open to all IPs.

Updating or removing IP entries

Click any IP entry in the table to open the edit modal and update the IP address, label, platforms, or status. To remove an entry, open the three-dot menu on that row and select Remove. For active entries, a Disable instead option is available to turn the entry off without removing it permanently.

Bulk actions

Use the three-dot menu above the table to run bulk operations:
  • Activate all entries — Activates all inactive IP entries at once.
  • Deactivate all entries — Deactivates all active IP entries at once.
  • Remove all entries — Permanently removes all IP entries.
Each bulk action requires confirmation before it runs.

Bulk import with CSV

Click Import CSV to add multiple IP entries at once. The CSV must include columns for IP, Label, Platforms, and Status. After upload, review any row-level errors (invalid IPs, duplicates, reserved addresses) and warnings for overly broad CIDR ranges, then confirm the import.

Monitoring platform coverage

Status chips at the top of the page show coverage for each platform:
  • Restricted (blue) — At least one active IP entry covers this platform, displaying the count (e.g., Web dashboard — 3 active entries).
  • Open to all IPs (grey) — No active IP entries cover this platform.

Validation rules

The following are not permitted in the allowlist:
  • Reserved IP addresses — Loopback, private ranges, broadcast, link-local, and 0.0.0.0/0.
  • Duplicate IPs — An entry with the exact same IP address already exists.
  • Invalid format — The IP address or CIDR notation is not valid.
Very broad CIDR ranges such as /8 display a warning but are still allowed. Best practices:
  • Add all IPs as inactive first, then activate them once your full list is ready.
  • Always include your own IP before activating the allowlist.
  • Use labels to make IP entries easier to recognize later.
  • Use CSV import when adding many entries at once.
